40 years of the Jagdhof: let’s party!
Anniversary celebrations at the Stubai Valley’s only 5-star hotel
Much at the Relais & Châteaux SPA-HOTEL Jagdhof has remained exactly as it was forty years ago. Thankfully, this doesn’t apply to the furnishings, fittings or finishes in either the rooms, SPA, dining rooms, bar or kitchen! These areas have seen many refurbishments over the years to ensure they are up-to-date and meet our guests’ sophisticated requirements.
Christina & Armin Pfurtscheller: ‘Today – as then – we strive daily to offer our guests a most wonderful stay. This is our tradition of hospitality, and we will keep it going into the future.’
In 1956, Leo and Margot Pfurtscheller opened the Café Gletscherblick in Neustift, thereby laying the foundation for their extraordinary careers as hoteliers. 21 years later they built the Jagdhof on the same site in the Stubai Valley. In those days, it was the only hotel in the region with its own indoor pool, and it remains the only 5-star establishment in the Stubai Valley to this day. Over the years, the swimming pool grew into a beautiful, 3,000sqm SPA area, which is renowned throughout Austria for excellent facilities and blissful ambience.
The proprietors have continually increased the number of rooms, suites and lounges, which have also seen a great deal of modernisation. In addition, they purchased a farm and their own hunting estate, thus enabling them to serve first-class lamb, game and venison to their guests.
In 1999, their son Armin and his wife Christina took over the running of the hotel, and five years later, the Jagdhof was accepted into the renowned Relais & Châteaux hotel association. Under their management, the Jagdhof has become an award-winning SPA-HOTEL with a host of wellbeing innovations, including the new SPA CHALET, opened in 2014. Saskia and Alban represent the third generation of Pfurtschellers to carry on the Jagdhof’s fabulous success story into the future.
