The Elfer tobogganing paradise is ready and waiting!
The Elferbahnen ski resort is super popular with ski fans, but for tobogganists it’s an out-and-out Eldorado. Floodlit and with superb snow cannon facilities, it offers unforgettable experiences.
Elfer – daytime and night-time tobogganing
There are many toboggan runs, but few are set in such a picturesque landscape – or are as long as the three toboggan runs on the Elfer in Neustift, Stubai Valley. They twist their way through a magical landscape, offering pure, unadulterated tobogganing fun. Leading the way is the eight-kilometre – and longest – floodlit and groomed toboggan run in the Stubai Valley which leads to the lower terminus of the Elferbahnen cable cars in Neustift’s centre. All three runs have been awarded several seals of approval for natural toboggan runs by the state of Tyrol. If you don’t have your own toboggan, simply rent one at the valley station of the Elferbahnen cable cars.
Elferbahnen opening hours
During the day, the toboggan run is open daily from 9am to 5pm. It is illuminated on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm to 1am.
NEW: Starting with the winter season 2017/2018, every Wednesday is ladies’ night and includes a little surprise for lady tobogganists.
Weather conditions mean that the toboggan runs cannot be open every day.
Third Elfer toboggan festival
On 12 and 13 February, the third Elfer toboggan festival takes place at the Expo site by the Elferbahnen lower terminus. Leading toboggan manufacturers from Italy, Germany and Austria show off their latest models and innovations, and enthusiasts get valuable tips from the manufacturers who also let people borrow their toboggans. These can then be put through their paces on the Elfer’s three toboggan runs. The days conclude with toboggan races, competitions and much more – an absolute must for all tobogganing fans!
