Innsbruck’s Christmas Markets

A Touch of Tirolean Magic

Originally, Christmas markets were held to sell Christmas trees for people to bring fragrant and decorative cheer into their homes. Today’s Christmas markets offer a huge variety of stalls, tradition and spectacle, and Innsbruck’s are amongst the most famous in the world. And to make things even better … the city has not one but seven festive markets!

Starting on 30 November 2023, culinary delights, children’s attractions, traditional crafts and, of course, the best mulled wine in the valley are available from Fridays to Sundays. On Friday 7 December, St Nicholas arrives and on Sunday 23 December we welcome the Christ Child.
