Winter tobogganing in Stubai is the height of snow fun! Walk, go by bus or cable car – when you get to the top, hop onto your toboggan and swoosh back down. 10 toboggan runs offer over 41km of deluxe downhill thrills. It’s so good, the area has been awarded the Tiroler Naturrodelbahn hallmark of excellence. Why not try night tobogganing? It’s so exciting, and there are four runs available here in the Stubai Valley. And if you don’t fancy pulling your toboggan all the way up, the mountain lifts or the toboggan taxi will take you there in comfort.

Elfer-Pinnis Valley Toboggan Run

Take the Elfer gondola or make the 2.5-hour walk up to the upper terminus. This is the start of Tyrol’s longest natural toboggan run down the rear of the Elfer through the idyllic Pinnis Valley towards Neder. If you’d rather take to the run at night (but not under lights!), you can make the descent on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Elfer – Neustift Dorf Toboggan Run

The Elfer run has the same access as the Pinnistal Valley run. However, you’ll be descending the front side of the Elfer towards Neustift, and you can rush down the lit run on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

If you’d like to combine a fitness challenge with your winter tobogganing, the Stubai Valley offers several runs that are only accessible on foot.

Brandstattalm Toboggan Run

Set off from the rustic Brandstattalm to the Josef car park and then walk uphill for around 1.5 hours. The Brandstattalm run also operates on Wednesday and Saturday nights, although please note that it is not lit!

Milderaun Toboggan Run

There are two options from the Milderaunalm – both offer maximum fun and breathtaking scenery!

The shorter route takes you through Krössbach and snow-capped forest to the Milderaunalm in around 1.5 hours.

  • Opening times: Daily (night tobogganing on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays only)

  • Toboggan rental: Milderaunalm, where you can also rent headlamps. A shuttle service is available if requested by phone

The walk from the Bichlhof car park in Milders winds around several hairpin bends to the Milderaunalm and takes around 2 hours.
